Cookie Policy
Which cookies we use, why we use them, and how you control analytics and marketing cookies.
Last updated: 26 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Chill Ink Tattoo & Piercing (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at https://chillinktattoopiercing.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owner. Similar technologies (such as tags, pixels, and local storage) can be used for the same purposes. In this policy, we refer to all of these simply as “cookies”.
2. Why we use cookies
Our website is a static, information-and-contact site with no accounts or logins. We use cookies for a small number of reasons: to keep the site working and secure, to remember your cookie choices, and — only with your consent — to understand how the site is used and to measure the performance of our advertising.
3. Categories of cookies we use
We only load analytics and marketing cookies after you have given consent through our cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies may be used without consent because the site cannot function properly without them.
| Category | Purpose | Example providers | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keep the site running and secure, and remember your cookie consent choices so we do not ask you on every visit. | Our own website and hosting provider | No — always active |
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors use the site — for example which pages are viewed — so we can improve it. Loaded through Google Tag Manager (e.g. Google Analytics / GA4). | Google (via Google Tag Manager, container GTM-WGGQ8DDJ) | Yes |
| Marketing / advertising | Measure the performance of our ads (conversion tracking) and support remarketing. Loaded through Google Tag Manager. | Google Ads (via Google Tag Manager) | Yes |
Specific cookie names are not listed here because the exact cookies set can change over time depending on how tags are configured in Google Tag Manager. The categories and providers above describe what those cookies are for. You can inspect the cookies currently set on your device using your browser’s developer tools.
Our display fonts are self-hosted, so loading them does not set any third-party font cookies.
4. Managing your consent
When you first visit our site, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your choices by category. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set if you consent.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the cookie preferences from the banner or the link provided on the site. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view the cookies stored, delete them individually or all at once, and prevent new ones from being set. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the site to work incorrectly, and clearing cookies may reset your saved preferences so the banner appears again.
Helpful browser guides can usually be found in the “Privacy” or “Cookies” section of your browser’s settings or help pages.
5. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties rather than by us directly. In particular, cookies loaded through Google Tag Manager (such as Google Analytics and Google Ads) are set by Google and are subject to Google’s own privacy and cookie terms. If you click a link that takes you to another service — for example our WhatsApp contact button, Google Maps, or our Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest profiles — that service may set its own cookies once you are on its site or app, under its own policies. We do not control third-party cookies and recommend reviewing the relevant provider’s policy.
6. How long cookies last
Cookies last for different lengths of time depending on their purpose:
- Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
As typical, non-binding ranges: strictly necessary and consent-preference cookies often last from the current session up to around 12 months; analytics cookies commonly last from a few months up to around 24 months; and marketing/advertising cookies commonly last from a few months up to around 12–13 months. These are examples only, as the exact durations are set by the relevant provider (for example Google) and by the tag configuration in Google Tag Manager. You can always remove cookies earlier through your browser.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in the law. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
